Entry 6 - The End of a Big Year (and the Dawn of a New One)
December 23rd, 2023
Well, hello there. It's yours truly. It has been quite sometime since my last blog update, and so much has unfolded since then. This year, I have been able to finally showcase my music in the ways I never could. I've always been captivated by the impressive, official feel of digital releases by big artists, the care put into CDs, and promotional content that doesn't make me want to click the "Skip Ad" button until my finger broke. If you haven't been up to speed or would just like a recap, continue reading. And, on top of that, read to the end to hear a very big announcement for my music!

1. WHY I RE-RELEASED THESE WORKS IN 2023

Although I released the second revision of K2L last fall, there was still much to be desired. I almost released every visualizer for K2L by March, but once I kept hearing this version of K2L again and again, and when I compared my visualizers to those of Dubstep Gutters, Linkin Park, Korn, and others, I made the hard decision of aborting all my efforts in the year. I was also writing more of BioArmor at the time. But, since K2L needed more work and I felt overwhelmed to jam writing the album into a tight window of time, I decided to publicly and consciously advertise the Reconstruction Period as an ongoing campaign.

2. WHAT DID I REVISE AND RELEASE?
2023 has been a big year for revising my studio albums. I released my first four albums only via zip downloads sent through email back in the day, and each album really wasn't polished to a sparkly shine. On top of it, I never got to create the artwork and visualizers I always wanted to do since visuals are what piques' humans' attention first. In an effort to present my world of music the ways I always wanted to do, I started what I called the "Reconstruction Period" of my music in 2020. There wasn't a 100% start day or even year of this period since I've been revising my music since as early as 2017. And, in fact, I still have yet to release The 15th Parallel and Air of Optimism RP-style. Despite this, K2L, Solar Experiments, and Warped Space 1 have been released on all major platforms in the spring and summer of this year. These three works are available for free on my Youtube channel and streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music. K2L and Solar Experiments are available for purchase at $12 on Bandcamp as a digital download to fund me for my work. (Warped Space 1 still needs to be uploaded and will be released for $5.)

3. HANDMAKING PROFESSIONAL CDs

Another thing I finally have been able to do is make professional-quality CDs. I had made half professional-looking CDs starting with The 15th Parallel. However, the CD faces were blank with sharpie marker to label them, the booklet designs were only adequate, the artwork was amateur, and I didn't even make hard copies for Solar Experiments or Warped Space 1. This was the year to make the wrongs right. As of right now, not all of the CDs are done. However, already a customer has acquired early access to K2L. (Contact me if you'd like a copy in the Contact tab.)

4. STARTING A TIK TOK (UGH)
In addition to these releases, I also started a Tik Tok. I've never wanted to produce short form content since I thought that (on average) nothing of deep, lasting value could be made on an ADHD, phone addiction-inducing platform. Even the length of my songs tend to fly in the face pop music and pop culture's insistence on convenience, 3 and a half minute chorus/verse propaganda, and expediency. However, upon being counseled by a Christian teacher and content creator Jonah Wiley, I decided to bite the bullet and try my hand at shorts. Jonah ultimately said (paraphrase), "There are 1 BILLION users on Tik Tok. If we want to spread the gospel effectively, this is the place to cast a big net." I knew I was going to promote my music via Tik Tok since so many artists have done the same. However, I didn't want this to be squarely about me. Artists, especially celebrities, tend to become airheaded about their own creative ability and ego. Knowing how laughably arrogant I was during my first album, I tried to be much more attuned to what's going on in the internet. I wanted to see what made people laugh, feel compelled, and be intrigued. Since I am a Christian (and decent human being I like to hope), I used Tik Tok to create gospel-focused content and other comedic shorts that elaborate on my hot takes. I created shorts based off of abrasive 21st century-style comedy videos from Youtube, such as Podel. I wanted to make points about the Bible and refute skeptics to generate more traction for the Kingdom Mission, even if I knew I'd only make a tiny splash in the ocean of the internet. Tik Tok's algorithm tends to quickly give you an audience, though it doesn't guarantee virality. Nevertheless, I tried my hand over the spring and summer. I attempted to create content at a pace that would hopefully play Tik Tok into my hands and exponentially grow my reach to others (aka generate a following). Despite my sanity-threatening efforts, due to the extreme strain of producing shorts on a fidgety computer, the shorts I made will be it for now.

5. A BRAND NEW EP?

The first half of the RP is done. I haven't made a new release since 2021 and I haven't released original, brand new compositions since 2017! (Reminder: Warped Space 1 was made from pre-made loops. Air of Optimism wasn't.) I have a rough estimate of when BioArmor will be released, and it's not going to be soon. However, I can reassure you that it will not take 5 or even 3 more years. To prove it, I'm releasing a brand new double EP come winter 2024. That's this winter, not winter 2024 into 2025. BioArmor has a jaw dropping amount of material to finalize that dwarfs what K2L boasts. I initially said I'd release two EPs since it'd be appropriately portioned for BA's behemoth demo/song count. Instead, I made it a singular release as a double EP to punctuate how exciting (and overwhelming) the big BA beast will be. A double EP is the length of a regular album, so if you can imagine what the length of BioArmor then would be, you'll see why it's taken since 2016 to finish.
If you weren't able to decode what my promo from November was saying, don't worry. You aren't alone. The glitchy parts of the video were the announcement of this new EP. Be on the lookout for singles from this new EP to come out in January or early February. Title yet to be announced if you couldn't figure out how to decode the promo. ;)

In the meantime, stay tuned, God bless, and I love you all!

Entry 5 - K2L's Release Issues
September 30th, 2022
Hey guys. Exero here. If you've got questions regarding the release of my second album K2L, look no further then this post. K2L was my second album, physically released in 2016. Although I distributed the album on my own via email and hard copies, it wasn't released via streaming platforms until today. To make matters more difficult, I'm currently experiencing global distribution issues. K2L was physically released in July 2016, but digitally distributed September 2022. Due to this discrepancy, this caused the digital distribution of K2L to be rejected on this date. A promo going into depth of what K2L is all about is on my Youtube channel. When K2L officially is available, a new blog post will go up explaining the album in full. Stay tuned and God bless.
Well... hello again. everyone. I wasn't expecting to make a post like this, and moreso to end the last one with no release of Ultramarine. To explain what has happened since my last blog post, I got really cold feet. Really, really cold feet. I basically produced next to nothing for Ultramarine simply because I didn't want the fun to end. Time went by, and the period for inspiration and projected release dates flew by. Then the same thing happened with BioArmor.
Since both went by with little produced, I decided I would then continue with the next Reconstruction Period revisions: The 15th Parallel and Air of Optimism. I then got overly attached to the idea of what I would do in between revising songs on a day to day basis; basically, how would I relive writing each album? Days went by, the procrastination went on and on and on and on to the point where I thought I should just can both albums.

Over the course of trying to write new material (outside of Ultramarine and BioArmor) in the summer, I realized that was a big mistake. So, the next Reconstruction Period albums will be scheduled for 2025. However, since BioArmor will come out prior, I'm releasing both albums now, unrevised. When Um and the big bad BA come out, I want everyone to be acquainted with the full flavor of my entire offical discography, even if half of the studio collection is unrevised.

At the same time of now releasing both albums unrevised, I'm doing three other things: releasing new comedy videos when I can (my first MLG-esque video was released just a few weeks ago), continuing Tik Toks (when I can again), and updating this website in two different ways. First, I included sound previews of instrument and synth parts from across my albums. Since this is my very own privately owned website, I wanted to give listeners a taste of what it's like to hear the music from my perspective. Secondly, There's been issues with formating on desktop and even worse on mobile, so I fixed t

To conclude, as a Christian who personally believes Jesus is personally present each day in a believer's life, it's no coincidence that this blog post is a year later. I didn't plan on updating this website or continuing where I left off on this particular day, but God did. I see that as God's way of agreeing with me say, "Yup, you are continuing where you left off". So, ladies and gentlefish. Look ahead for new (and old) releases in the coming weeks and months. And as always, stay tuned and God bless.

Entry 3 - Warped Space 1
Entry 3 - Warped Space 1
October 1st, 2021
Warped Space 1 is my first musical release since 2017's Air of Optimism. I've had a special kind of love/passion/obsession for the work of (now defunct company) Peace Love Productions. They've been a massive inspiration for my work since my first demo album from 2010 and still I feel a deep impact from the work of Dj Puzzle, Bernard Turek, Dj Montra, and others.
Although I love their work, I've reached a point in my life where authorship and authenticity mean quite a lot to me. Since at least 2017, I've wanted to delegate anything related to loops to a separate realm within my work. I've used loops heavily in The 15th Parallel. Then, I used them sparingly in K2L and even more so in Solar Experiments. It took me until this year to finally come up with the solution, and writing suites was the best option.
The pack that this suite solely uses has a remarkably unique style. Each folder I explored seemed to have an established aesthetic to make up one large array of possible songs to create. If that wasn't already intriguing enough, try doing that two more times to make a trilogy. Yeah.
This is my first ever release on any platform, and especially for multiple platforms. I used to either hand people home-made copies or email my albums, which if you can imagine, leads to no sense of listener engagement. However, if you want to nab this body of music, you don't have to worry about a weird in-between.
If you're unfamiliar with my work, this is a good way to test the waters. Each song (aside from "That Sketchy Part of Space" and the closer "The Voyage") is typical song length. If you like the suite, you may want to move up a wrung and check out my Youtube channel, where I post single edits of my music. If you like that as well, then you'll probably be ready to face all of my catalogue, where songs can span anywhere from 5 minutes to the rare 30+. Sadly though, my studio work is still either under revision or is in production hell (cough, cough *BioArmor* cough, cough). Don't worry, though. Sooner or later, as long as I am a fully functional human, something will materialize. But for now, go check out my Warped Space 1 suite, available on all popular platforms as of October 1st, 2021!

Entry 2 - The Suites
Entry 2 - The Suites
August 27, 2021
As you patiently wait for the arrival of BioArmor, I will be creating additional music on the side, both before and after BioArmor's release. Instead of grouping each collection of songs together as an album, think of each suite like an old cassette playlist. Instead of focusing on a concept, each theme will focus on a mood or purpose.
An example of what a suite will look like is the first planned one, WS1 Suite. This suite is entirely comprised of loops from Soundtrack Loops' loops and samples pack Warped Space Trilogy. This trilogy actually contains three different loop packs that fit the theme of space travel, each in their own unique way. So, as you might expect, WS1 Suite will not be the only suite I'm writing.
Another example of what kind of suite I will be producing is a synthesizer suite. Take the Absynth 5 synthesizer software for example. It has a unique sound and character to it, so I'd like to compose music that solely focus on this synthesizer. Since have a lot of synths, I will be making more than just one suite centered around a synthesizer.
There will hopefully be a lot of suites coming out from September 2021 to December 2022. These suites are really just bonus songs for your enjoyment that deviate from my regular manner of writing music. Stay tuned and God bless!

Entry 4 - Reconstruction & Reclassfication
Entry 4 - Reconstruction & Reclassfication
June 9th, 2022
Hello everyone. It's Exero here. For those of you who do not know, I've been in the (painfully) slow process of revising my first four albums. Every album is being edited and remastered in order to bring you the best sound experience possible. This has been going on since the advent of BioArmor's production, my upcoming fifth album. As I mentioned in my first blog post, although these albums aren't currently up for download, you can still download the singles from the albums on my Soundcloud. Once the reconstruction period is finished, I will give an Instagram and website update.
In other news, I announced back in August that I would be releasing a series of suites. Although these suites will still be coming out, they have been relabeled as EPs. The term "suite" was a bit of a misnomer and to the average listener, an EP makes more sense.

Entry 1 - So... who is Exero?
Entry 1 - So... who is Exero?
August 27, 2021
Hello everybody. It's Exero here. For those of you who are unacquainted with my work, I produce electronic instrumental music. My music can be considered Christian music because the songs I produce are inspired by Bible passages. So, how would someone listen to my music? For each song, the passage is provided in the lyrics section of a song file. As you read the passage and listen to the music, your mind "meditates" on the mood, tone, and concept of the passage. It is similar to studying the Bible. At first, you may read it once and not think much of it. However, as you meditate on it, more and more layers of meaning unravel. The same applies to the music. Without the passage, the music is one thing. But paired with the passage, the music comes alive. The more you listen and read, the more your mind understands what's going on.
My first four albums as of the time of typing this are displayed on the Music tab. Currently, they are unavailable for download in full. However, they are not totally out of reach. You can download the singles from each album from my Soundcloud. If you are familiar with my Instagram, you may recall that my albums are being revised. This is what I call my Reconstruction Period. When each album is available for download, I will announce it on my blog and on Instagram.
So, what else am I doing? I am working on my fifth album, known as BioArmor. If you are a follower of mine, this may seem like a name that has been repeated a dozen times or more. That's because the album has been under production since the end of 2016. Not only that, but I occasionally take breaks from the album.
Now that you are up to date with my work, I hope you have a great day!
